The medication sildenafil is present in Viagra. It is a member of the pharmacological class known as phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitors. (A class of drugs is a collection of drugs with comparable mechanisms of action.) Viagra works to help you achieve and maintain an erection by increasing blood flow to your penis. But the usage of this medicine requires that you are sexually stimulated.
In most cases, it should be taken about an hour before sexual activity, but it can be taken 30 minutes to 4 hours beforehand.
