As some may know, I am a bargain hunter. I was tired of paying out the ass for pre workout powders, so I poked around online and found a place where I could buy the key ingredients. I was also tired of the super nasty fake sweet taste and the artificial flavoring (raspberry blast... give me a fucking break. Stuff taste like straight chemicals!) I though my blend of ingredient would be bitter as hell, instead it tastes kind of like vitamin C (I added no Vitamin C, ascorbic acid etc.).
I mixed up the ingredients such as to make fifteen [roughly] 12 gram servings. I gave it a test today, and trained arms as I figured in doing so, a pump would be more than evident if the blend worked. It worked really well actually even though I had my doubts. The pump remained in tact throughout the training session, and for roughly an hour or so after (this may be due to a higher amount of L-Norvaline then most brands, not by much though). I will admit that there may be placebo effect at play, I mean, I made the stuff so it must work waaaayyyy better (LOL); though maybe not. So, I may give some samples to some folks at the gym to see what they think. Here is the recipe. Amount of each is per serving:
Citruline malate 2:1 4 grams
Betaine Anhydrous 2 grams
Beta Alanine 2.25 grams
L-Norvaline 175 mg
Caffeine 200 mg
Agmatine 7.5g
Creatine. 5g
Potassium citrate 1g
I'be added potassium to the mix as I heard recently that potassium increased pumps, and boy does it! I added agmatine for the same reason. With the addition of these plus the creatine, I believe I've hit the nail on the head with this recipe. Energy and endurance has also increased since these additions. Originally, I had added glucose, but the mixture became funky and caked up even with silica packets. It was rem from the formula.
